Pedagogy Mission: Updating and creating more equitable approaches to teaching AT. Join any meetings to get involved, take on small tasks or larger projects or email us at atlibproject@gmail.com
The following projects are beginning with lead people assigned to each.
1. Developing DEI resources for AT training programs
2. Develop/explore models for AT trainee and recent post-graduate internships and jobs with community partners, entrepreneurship, new economy
-Capitalist models
-Post capitalist models
3. Resources for AT to attend conferences in other somatic fields who are integrating DEI.
4. Develop partnerships with experts in other fields and get advice on their training programs.
5. Research current active training programs, and locate training program directors interested in partnering with ATLP to strengthen their programs (Directory)
6. Develop new models for AT training programs that meet 21st century demands and values.
7. Conduct research through focus groups, surveys, and semi-structured interviews of
- Trainees, teachers, and training directors to understand current gaps, needs, or DEI-related concerns.
- AT clients or members of the public with no experience with AT to understand current gaps, needs, or DEI-related concerns in our teaching.

Freire emphasised how important it is to remember what it is to be human and saw education as a way to transform oppressive structures. His perspective stemmed from the values of love, care, and solidarity.
Freire asserts that an oppressive system shapes the attitudes of oppressed people, and makes them believe that they should become just like oppressors. This means that oppressed people do not always see themselves as “oppressed” at first, holding onto the “fear of freedom”.
